This is a three day course running Monday, Jan 18 - Wed, January 20 with the final exam the morning of Thurs. Jan 21.
Includes: Service Tech Manual, 4th Edition, CST workbook, and CST Exam
After completing this course the student will be able to explain common problems with pool finishes and how to repair them; keep pools running more efficiently with a better understanding of circulation, filtration, hydraulics and electricity; grow your practical knowledge and gain troubleshooting skills and resources; and distinguish yourself as an experienced and knowledgeable service technician.
You do not need to have completed the CMS certification in order to attend this course and sit for the CST exam, but you will be expected to have acquired the core knowledge covered in that course. We recommend that you have at least 1-2 years of experience in pool/spa service and repair to expect to be successful on the certification exam. Registration for the CST exam is included in your registration fee. The exam for this program is a two-hour, open-book exam with 100 multiple-choice questions that requires the ability to apply your technical knowledge to situations encountered in the field. You must score a 75% or better to pass.
Many students also find the CST program to be a useful preparation for taking the CSP Certified Service Professional® exam. Qualified individuals may submit a CSP application, including payment and take that exam instead. Please contact APSP for additional information on the CSP exam and application process.
